QuestionWorkplace
Can Introverts Be Effective Leaders?
Yes. Leadership effectiveness should not be reduced to being: loud; highly social; constantly visible; highly expressive.
An introverted leader may bring strengths such as: careful listening; reflection; preparation; observation; focused communication; independent thinking.
That does not mean every introvert is naturally good at leadership. Likewise, being highly outgoing does not guarantee leadership effectiveness.
The important question is: Can the person develop the behaviours the leadership context requires?
Leadership can be developed.
