Career Growth vs Career Success

Refers to development — including learning, increasing responsibility, stronger skills, greater confidence and broader experience. Growth describes the trajectory of development over time.

Is broader and depends partly on how success is defined. For one person, success may mean leadership. For another, it may mean flexibility, meaningful contribution or financial independence.

Growth can contribute to success, but they are not identical. You can experience significant growth without receiving a promotion. You can receive a promotion without experiencing meaningful personal growth.

Am I developing in a direction that matters to me? Career success should be defined from the inside rather than measured entirely by external markers like title or salary.
