Should You Change Careers Because You Are Unhappy?
Unhappiness deserves attention. But it does not automatically prove that you chose the wrong career. Your dissatisfaction could come from: your manager; workload; workplace culture; compensation; lack of recognition; limited autonomy; poor work-life balance; role responsibilities; lack of growth; the occupation itself.
Diagnose Before You Exit
Ask: If the same career existed in a different organization, would I still want to leave? If the answer is no, the issue may be workplace fit. If the answer remains yes, deeper career exploration may be appropriate.
The Goal
Do not use a career change to solve a problem that could be solved by changing roles, teams or organizations.
Change your career with confidence.
Identify your transferable skills and align them with new opportunities by mapping your capabilities and career direction.
