How AI Is Changing Skill Development
AI can make learning more interactive.
For example, learners can use AI to:
- explain difficult concepts
- generate practice questions
- simulate scenarios
- receive feedback
- brainstorm solutions
- summarise information
- practise communication
However, easier access to information does not automatically create competence.
A person can ask AI to produce a presentation without becoming a better presenter.
They can ask AI to write code without understanding programming.
They can generate an answer without developing judgment.
The distinction remains:
Information ≠ Knowledge ≠ Skill ≠ Competence
AI can accelerate parts of learning.
The learner still needs practice and application.
