How Do I Know What I Have to Contribute?
You do not always discover your contribution by sitting down and trying to invent a grand answer.
Often, you discover it by examining patterns.
Start with your natural gifts.
What kinds of things seem to come naturally to you?
Then examine your skills.
What can you reliably do well?
Look at your experience.
What situations have taught you something useful?
Examine your values.
What kinds of outcomes matter deeply to you?
Look at the problems you naturally notice.
What difficulties do you find yourself wanting to solve?
Finally, observe the impact you have already had.
What do people regularly come to you for?
What do others say you are good at?
What becomes easier because you are involved?
These questions can reveal patterns.
You may discover that your contribution is not one enormous mission.
It may be a recurring way you create value.
For example:
"I help people understand complicated things."
or:
"I naturally bring structure to disorganised situations."
or:
"I see possibilities and help people turn them into action."
Those statements can become useful clues for career and purpose exploration.
