Is Natural Talent the Same as Intelligence?
Natural talent and intelligence should not be treated as interchangeable terms.
What intelligence is
Intelligence is a broad concept involving cognitive capabilities such as reasoning and learning, while talent generally refers to an aptitude or particular area of capability.
They do not overlap completely
A person can demonstrate a strong talent in a particular activity without that activity being a direct measure of general intelligence. Strong general cognitive ability does not automatically make someone excellent at every domain.
Performance depends on many factors
Aptitude + knowledge + practice + opportunity + motivation + context. This matters in career decisions — do not conclude you are "not intelligent" simply because one task is difficult.
