Job Fit vs Career Fit: What's the Difference?
Job fit concerns whether a particular position suits you. Career fit concerns whether the broader field or direction fits your abilities, interests, values and longer-term development.
You can have a poor job fit within a career that otherwise suits you.
For example, someone may enjoy software development but dislike their current company's management style, workload or work environment.
Evaluating your trajectory carefully
That does not necessarily mean software development is the wrong career.
Conversely, you may enjoy one job because of supportive colleagues and good pay while discovering that the underlying occupation does not align with your longer-term direction.
This distinction prevents people from making major career decisions based on one workplace experience.
