Natural Gifts Discovery Guide
Natural gifts are patterns of ability or tendency that may come more naturally to a person than to others. Discovering them can provide useful clues about where someone may develop skills and contribute effectively.
However, natural gifts should not be treated as fixed destiny.
Look for What Comes Naturally
Ask yourself: What do people often ask me to help with? What problems do I naturally notice? What seems obvious to me but difficult for others?
Look for Repeated Evidence
A single success doesn't establish a gift. Look for repeated patterns across environments—whether it's organizing people, explaining ideas, or solving practical problems.
Ask Other People
Sometimes other people see our strengths before we do. Ask trusted people what they think you naturally do well, and look for repeated themes in their answers.
Separate Gift From Skill
A natural communication tendency must be developed into a communication skill to become a professional capability. Development is still required.
