A Practical Way to Start Discovering Your Natural Gifts
You do not need to understand your entire identity in one sitting. Start with a simple evidence exercise.
List ten moments
Write down ten situations in which you felt useful, effective, unusually engaged, or repeatedly relied upon. They can come from school, work, family, church, community, friendships, projects, volunteering, hobbies, or everyday life.
Identify what you actually did
Do not write only "My team succeeded." Write "I organized the tasks, explained the plan, noticed the missing information, and coordinated the group." Specific behavior is more useful than general achievement.
Find repetitions
Across your ten examples, highlight repeated actions. Maybe you repeatedly: explain, organize, investigate, create, persuade, build, observe, teach, coordinate, care, analyze, or lead.
Ask other people
Choose three people who know you in different contexts and ask them what they think you consistently do well.
Test the pattern
Find a real opportunity to use the suspected ability. Discovery becomes stronger when observation is followed by application.
You may be using abilities every day without having a clear language for them.
