Why Career Discovery Feels Difficult
Most students struggle with career direction not because they are confused, but because they are trying to answer the wrong question. The question "What career should I choose?" is too big and too early. The better starting question is: "What do I understand about myself right now that can guide my next investigation?"
Choosing a career at 16–22 feels permanent. It isn't. Most people refine their direction multiple times. The goal is informed exploration, not a final answer.
Starting with a job title is backwards. Start with yourself — your interests, natural tendencies, skills and values — and investigate outward toward possible careers.
Without a structured way to think about career discovery, you end up guessing, following others or picking what sounds impressive. These resources give you a framework.
