How to Turn Skills Into Strong Resume Evidence
The difference between a weak and a strong resume entry is evidence.
Weak vs stronger
Weak: "Good communication skills." Stronger: "Presented weekly project findings to a cross-functional team and clarified technical issues for non-technical stakeholders."
The formula
Use: Action + context + skill + outcome. Whenever possible, quantify: people reached; time saved; revenue generated; errors reduced; projects completed; processes improved.
Honest numbers only
Do not invent numbers. If an outcome cannot be quantified honestly, describe the concrete result.
Knowing your skills is useful. Understanding where those skills come from, which abilities may support them, and where they can take you gives you a much clearer picture.
