Phase 1Year 1
Pre-Nursing Foundation
- Complete A-levels or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, and a third subject
- Gain at least 100 hours of healthcare volunteering or care work
- Research nursing programmes at accredited universities
- Prepare a personal statement highlighting your care experience
- Apply through UCAS (UK) or university direct applications

Phase 2Years 1–3
Nursing Degree
- Complete a 3-year BSc Nursing degree (Adult, Mental Health, Children, or Learning Disability)
- Pass 50% theory modules (anatomy, pharmacology, clinical skills)
- Complete 50% supervised clinical placements across different settings
- Develop core competencies: patient assessment, medication management, care planning
- Study ethics, communication, and evidence-based practice

Phase 3Year 3–4
Registration
- Apply to register with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) in the UK
- Complete final clinical assessments and sign-off portfolio
- Pass the NMC OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)
- Obtain your PIN (Personal Identification Number) from the NMC
- Apply for band 5 Registered Nurse positions

Phase 4Years 4+
Specialisation & Growth
- Work in a general ward for 12–24 months to build foundational skills
- Choose a specialisation: ICU, Oncology, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Community
- Complete postgraduate certificates in your chosen field
- Consider Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Nurse Consultant pathway
- Pursue Band 6 and Band 7 promotions through experience and leadership
